Making education accessbile for students with disabilities remain a huge challenge in Tanzania

SHARE

Ms. Faustina Urassa, the director general of the local Songambele Community-based organization helping students with disabilities, said that there are recently many challenges for students with disabilities, mainly studying and accessing education due to the lack of friendly infrastructure in schools. Ms. Urassa’s NGO handed over a donation of seven wheelchairs to students with disabilities. Missing infrastructure in schools such as toilets, right paths for wheelchairs and sports infrastructure are currently lacking in Tanzanian schools. Ms. Urassa appealed to the government to have a ‘fresh look’ on people with disabilities to equip them to being independent.

However the consequences are real and serious of such an accusation. In Pakistan being charged with blasphemy means the death penalty or life imprisonment. Innocent families are getting separated for a life time. By signing this petition, together we can make a beginning to an end of such practices.
