Rapporteur voices concerns over arbitrary arrests in Eritrea

The U.N. Special Rapporteur Mohamed Abdel Salam asked the Eritrean Government to have new updates about the conditions of Isaac Dawit, a journalist arrested in 2001 without trial for having been part of the Government of the Fifteen. Furthermore, the Rapporteur described the situation in Eritrea as concerning due to the lack of cooperation of the Government, which had not allowed him to enter the country and had not sent him any information. He expressed his concerns on arbitrary arrests and about the situation of refugees in Tigray specifically.
