An ongoing armed conflict has been happening in Tigray, North of Ethiopia, since 2020. Different actors are involved, especially Eritrea’s government through its national force. The Eritrean forces are accused of killing 19 victims on the 8th of June in a small rural settlement, women and young children were among most of the victims.

U.S administrations and other international organizations are alarmed and taking action about the situation in the region. In this regard, in a recent statement, the Eritrean Foreign Minister, Othman Salih, accuses the U.S administration of supporting the Tigray’s People’s Liberation Movement, causing “more destabilization and fueling” the conflict. In addition, Othman also accuses Tigray’s People’s Movement of launching a disinformation campaign in order to cover its illegal plans to arm itself and overthrow Ethiopia’s government.
