Gambian domestic legislation leaves women vulnerable to violence in Gambia.

Mr. Madi Jobarteh, a renowned Gambian rights activist spoke in a recent interview with The Point Gambia, expressing his concerns over the domestic laws in place as these are not ‘very strong’ to protect women of Gambia. Mr. Jobarteh further elaborates on the prevalence of gender-based violence in Gambia, in homes and workplaces due to patriarchal norms and harmful conservative practices and cultural beliefs.
