The common forces against the “dictatorship” of President Azali, met with the press as a result of the 46th anniversary of the Comoros independence. The opposition group condemned the current regime of “forbidding citizens to express themselves freely”. The group also mentioned the food crises that make the living cost of Comorians very expensive. According to them, the country still has not reached its maturity for good governance.

The speakers also enumerated problems related to justice and the crises of basic necessities. According to one of the speakers, Ms. Abdou Soimadou, Comoros lives in “a famine situation that the country has never known. This testifies the inability of a man who has now become illegal and illegitimate with his government to meet the needs of the Comorians”. The group also denounced that since the start of the current regime, the population has only experienced dictatorship, terror, repression, insecurity, criminality, the instrumentalization of justice and the army, famine and amateurism.
