US official document for Palestinian ‘reset’

UAE-based newspaper The National obtained a four-page US memo that details the approach of the Biden administration to relations with Palestine. The memo sets out to ‘reset’ relations between the United States and Palestine and includes the provision of 15 million dollars in covid-19 assistance and a revision of several of the Trump administration’s positions. Generally, the memo envisions Israeli-Palestinian peace under a two-state solution framework.
President Biden’s foreign policy approach in the Middle East is vastly different from that of the Trump administration. Since his inauguration, the president has launched reprisal strikes against Iranian targets in Syria, publicly denounced the actions of the Saudi Arabian regime, and now revised the US approach to the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
