On February 13th, 2024, a man was stopped by the police forces for exceeding the speed limits while he was allegedly running away from the double-femicide committed a few hours earlier. The man killed the mother and the sister of his ex-girlfriend after she decided to end their relationship a week earlier.

The man was at the house of his ex-girlfriend, in Cisterna di Latina, a small town in the Lazio Region, when he shot to death her mother and sister. The girl managed to hide in the bathroom and escaped from him. She reported everything to the local police forces, visibly shocked by the events. The man, marshal of the Italian Guardia di Finanza, used his service weapon to commit the double femicide.

The local anti-violence centre reported that since the beginning of 2024, 61 women asked for help and decided to start a path to escape conditions of physical and psychological violence. On Friday, February 16th, approximately 5000 people were reunited in the main square of Cisterna di Latina to remember the two victims of this latest femicide and to raise their voices against the many women that every day are victims of violence.
