The Syrian Civil War started more than a decade ago, affecting almost 60% of the population, this number representing the people who do not have access to enough food. Children are among the most affected, with 2.5 of them out of school. As one of the most influential European states, Germany, pledges to provide more aid. The contributions will focus on some of the most severe aspects of the war: food, medical assistance, and children’s education. The sum, estimated to be close to last year’s sum, is around 1.6 billion euros and can speed up the process of offering aid to the victims of the war. The funds will be managed and distributed by aid organisations in Syria.
