From August 2017 to November 2021, 210 state security officials have been convicted of crimes related to human rights violations, reported Nicolás Maduro's attorney general, Tarek William Saab on Wednesday. "A significant number of 210 police and military officials, agents of the State, who unfortunately committed human rights violations, have been achieved," said Saab in a broadcast on Venezuelan television.

He explained that, since his management began in 2017, his office has charged 820 State security officials for alleged human rights violations and 40 individuals indicted as immediate collaborators, of which 210 were convicted by the courts. Saab assured that during the current year, 681 people have been convicted for crimes of corruption and 83 officials for crimes related to human rights violations.
