A video of the missing 39 students, abducted this past Thursday from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Kaduna State, emerged on Saturday. The group of abductors responsible for the disappearance of the students released a video torturing the students and demanding N500 million as ransom for their release. In the video, the students appealed the federal government to settle with the abductors, who had threatened to kill the students. The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, applauded the efforts made by the Kaduna State government in rescuing the other 180 students abducted that day and, in a message to the terrorists targeting public schools, claimed that the government would not allow the destruction of the school system in Nigeria.
