The UN has reported that nearly 200,000 people have been displaced within Sudan due to ongoing fighting, with a total of over 2.6 million people internally displaced since the conflict began in April. Additionally, more than 730,000 people have fled Sudan and sought refuge in neighboring countries. UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed and the head of the World Food Programme (WFP), Cindy McCain, recently visited a refugee camp in eastern Chad that has provided shelter to Sudanese refugees. Mohammed emphasized the need for increased international support for refugees and their host communities. Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations continue to provide relief to those affected by the conflict, including support for water, healthcare, and reproductive health services in Sudan. The UN remains committed to reaching all women and girls in need of urgent health and protection services in Sudan.
