The rights group Lawyers for Liberty called on the Malaysian government to stop the crackdown policy and enforce a more compassionate approach during the pandemic. Background is the announcement of the Malaysian government that all foreigners have to leave the country by April 21, if they do not have a guilty social visit pass. The group reminded the government that it is hard to arrange their journey to home in these difficult times. That is not just because of Covid-19 related travel restrictions but for some also circumstances like the devastating situation in Myanmar, where it is dangerous to return to.
