At the beginning of April 2023, Enaam Ahmed has become the first-ever Pakistani to win a go-karting world championship. When something gets press recognition in Pakistan it is often for a negative reason, e.g., another husband killing his wife, a young girl being forced to marry or abducted, the economy crashing, natural disasters with devastating consequences, situations of terrorism, and unfortunately many more. Therefore, it is important for cases like Ahmed’s to get noticed.

Enaam Ahmed is 23 years old and born in London to Pakistani parents, he was 8 years old when he first started to express an interest in car racing. Moreover, he was 14 years old when he won five championships in one year. At the age of 17, he became the British Formula 3 Champion. In an interview after his win, he said that it is crucial for him the fact that he achieved all these accomplishments as a Pakistani-origin racer. More specifically he said:

‘’For me, it matters the most that I won these races at the world stage as a Pakistani and races at the world championship level and at the European Championship level as a Pakistani. Not just to do it but to win it, this makes me very proud and there is a long way to go.”

As for his future plans, he said that he is aiming at getting into Formula 1.
