The Nigerian Feminist Forum (NFF) has called for an end to all forms of violence against women and girls. The NFF issued a statement on June 18th, 2021, ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence celebrated on June 19th, 2021. In the statement the NFF claimed that Nigerian women and girls have been subjected to rape, incest, death, kidnappings, discrimination, and other sexual violence acts for the past ten years, resulting from the insurgency in various parts of the country. Further, the NFF stated that there is no justice for women and girls in Nigeria, due to stigma, shame, and the fact that law enforcement officers often blame the victims.  Moreover, the NFF called on all states to pass the Violence against Persons Prohibition Bill to protect everyone against all forms of violence, urged the authorities to stop abductions of schoolgirls by insurgents, and demanded that the Nigeria Police handle sexual violence cases as criminal offences.
