Military medics to support the fight against COVID-19 in Gauteng, South Africa

Gauteng, northeastern South Africa, is the current epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 7500 new cases in the last recording period. Considering the dire health situation in the province, and the burden that healthcare workers are facing, the Government of South Africa announced the deployment of military medics to the region. The military medics will be supporting healthcare workers in the response to COVID-19.
