On Thursday, November 11, a mentally ill girl was allegedly molested in Changi Bandi village in Haripur, say the police.

According to her father, Adil Shehzad, his daughter, who was only 7 years old, was mentally retarded and standing in the Mohallah when one man named Bilal dragged her into his home where he molested her. The girl was recovered by residents from the neighborhood at the suspect’s home. She was subsequently shifted to the trauma centre.

According to the police, the doctors at the centre, after performing a careful examination, confirmed that the girl was also raped by the suspect. Station House Officer Ehjaz Ali made a statement in which he said that the police have arrested the suspect and that he will be presented before a court for physical remand on Friday (Today, November 12) (Dawn, 2021).
