Members of the Nigerian National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) will commence a strike regarding payment of salaries.

The members of NARD are demanding the federal government to pay all now-late salaries, haArd allowances and payment of the COVID-19 inducement allowances, specially in the state-owned health institutions. Some of the members of the NARD have not been paid their salaries for four months now. Moreover, members of the Abia State University Teaching Hospitals, members have been unpaid for 20 months. In Imo State University Teaching Hospitals, the unpaid salaries go back for five months, and in the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospitals, three months of salaries are still yet to be paid. The NARD have sent their communiqué regarding the issues to the National Executive Council (NEC) on 27 March 2021. However, the NARD had already lamented their concerns to the NEC in January
