Man arrested for allegedly raping 17-year-old girl

As reported on Friday by Dawn, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in a hotel located in Faizabad, according to the police. The victim registered a First Information Report (FIR) with the police in which she stated that the suspect called her after obtaining her contact details via her social media account. The suspect offered her a job as a nurse in Rawalpindi and even arranged her travelling expenses. Upon arrival, she was called to a private hospital in Islamabad for a job interview. Last Wednesday night, the suspect picked her up in a car and took her to a hotel in Faizabad. In this hotel, she was raped.
While continuing to shout for help, nobody came to her rescue, she stated in the FIR. The victim managed to escape when the suspect went to the bathroom. She took his keys and locked him in the room from outside. Again, screaming for help, this time, she did catch attention of people in the hotel. Luckily, the police arrived and were able to arrest the suspect, who was later remanded in police custody for five days (Asghar, 2021).
