At the beginning of the month, tension arose along the Israeli Lebanese border. The Israeli military said its forces targeted rocket launch sites in south of Lebanon after shots were fired at Israel. As a result, Michel Aoun called on the UN to take action. During a meeting with the UN Special oordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka, he claimed that the alleged Israeli strikes violated Lebanon’s sovereignty and infringed UN Resolution 1701, which terminated the 2006 war between the Hezbollah and Israel.
