On 5th April 2021, the Pre-Trial Chamber of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) announced that it will issue its decision regarding the Appeals against the Co-Investigating Judges’ Closing Orders in Case 003 on 7th April 2021. The initial steps of the cases began on 28 November 2018 when the International Co-Investigating Judge issued an Indictment that sent Mr. MEAS Mush to trial, yet, on the same day, the National Co-Investigating Judge also issued an order to dismiss his case. A few months later, the National Co-Prosecutor and the Co-Lawyers for the Charged Person appealed against the decision of the International Co-Investigating Judge to order an Indictment. The Pre-Trial received the appeals, respectively, only on 5 April 2019 and 8 April 2019. Also, on 8 April 2019, the International Co-Prosecutor lodged an appeal to question the dismissal order that had been previously issued by the National Co-Investigating Judge. During 27, 28 and 29 November 2019, the Pre-Trial Chamber held a hearing in Case 003 to hear the arguments of the Parties.
