Jailed activist is mistreated in the UAE

The prominent jailed human rights activist Ahmed Mansoor faces retaliation after he wrote a private letter stating that he is mistreated in prison and had an unfair trial. The letter was published by regional media in the UAE. Mansoor is detained since March 2017, isolated from other prisoners and without any bed or mattress. Human Rights Watch urges the authorities in the UAE to give independent monitor access and allow visits from family members.
