In Syria camp, forgotten children are molded by IS ideology

It has been two years since the Islamic State Caliphate was brought down. Still, 27000 children live in Al-Hol camp, which is located in Syria on the border with Iraq. Those children grow up in bad circumstances, in which they are not stimulated to learn or develop. They are however influenced by IS sympathizers who have networks in the camp. Kurdish authorities and aid groups fair the camp will create a new generation of militants. They urge the home countries to take their women and children back, but the countries refrain in fear of bringing in danger. Basic needs, such as a dry, warm place with access to clean water and sanitation are very limited in the camp. During a visit from the AP to the camp, it became clear that the children who live there have already been influenced by the IS ideology.
