It is reported by the GHRD sources that a Statue of Lord Krishna was broken by a police constable during the Hindu religious event of “Lord Krishna’s Janam Ashtani” in Khipro City of District Sanghar in Sindh. The incident came to light when pictures of the desecrated statue emerged on the internet. A video of the alleged eye witness surfaced on social media, claiming that a man had attacked the Idol and ran away.

However, the “Express Tribune” reported that according to the Sanghar Police: the Idol was damaged as a result of an accident. The Police deemed the entire religious event as mismanaged, resulting in chaos and subsequent damage to the Statue. It is further reported that two purported eye-witnesses came forward in a “video statement” and told the police that “…they had seen a woman pushed by the massive crowd accidentally bump into the idol, toppling it over.”
