Canada First Nation group opposes De Beers waste dump on traditional territory

A First Nation community has requested De Beers Group whether they can consider canceling plans that involve a landfill on the territory of the First Nation community. These plans ultimately threaten cultural sites owned by the indigenous community. De Beers Group is seeking approval from the regional government to allow for the execution of their plans for a landfill of mine demolition waste. The indigenous community affected by the plans stated that the site is of great importance for cultural and spiritual context to their people. Source:
