Biden-Harris administration revokes sanctions against members of the International Criminal Court (ICC)

The current US administration announced it took measures to lift the Executive Order 13928 against the ICC prosecutor and terminated the separated 2019 policy on visa restrictions against the Court’s personnel. The sanctions were taken by the former US administration due to the opening of an investigation on the context of potential war crimes committed by top agents from the CIA in Afghanistan. Although the current government has stated that it is still against the investigation because the United States is not a State Party to the Court, the ICC Assembly of States Parties welcomed the announcement.
