African Commission on Human and People’s Rights Mourns the Passing of South-African Professor Christof Heyns

The African Commission published a statement on March 29, on the passing of the professor. Heyns was a Professor of Law at the University of Pretoria and a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, apart from having served as a member of other human rights working groups for the African Commission. He was known for his large contribution in diverse ways to the expansion of the African and Global Human Rights System. On the behalf of the Commission, Commissioner Solomon Ayele Dersso expressed his condolences to the Professor’s family and friends.
