Afghan President Ashraf Ghani will resign in a few hours. Taliban fighters took control of Kabul further tightening their grip in Afghanistan. The Taliban defeated, co-opted and sent Afghan security forces fleeing from wide swaths of the country.
Taliban takeover endangers Afghan women and girls. Previously under the Taliban regime, girls were blocked from attending school and were forbidden from appearing in public without covering the full body and a male escort. The present Taliban takeover only brings along more fear among the women calling it an upcoming "dark" phase.
