Bherumal Kolhi, a man from the Hindu community was killed in an alleged attack by some members of the Araen community in “Kunri town of Umerkot district”.

It has been reported by the GHRD sources that Bherumal was involved in an altercation with someone from the Arain community, after the latter allegedly harassed former’s sister. Considering the said altercation as a sign of insult, some members of the Araen community allegedly attacked Bherumal with axes and sticks and, eventually, killing him.

According to the ‘dailytimes’, this incident was confirmed by “special aide” to the Chief Minister of Sindh. In addition, the Sindh Minister for Minority Affairs Hari Ram Kishori issued a statement that “…stringent measures were being taken by the Sindh government to protect the lives and properties of the minority communities and ensure the protection of their legitimate rights.”
