Shooting near the French Embassy in Dar es Salaam

An unidentified man armed with a pistol opened fire in the diplomatic area of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s major city, near the Embassy of France on August 25, 2021. The attacker had first shot two police officers, seized their rifles, and proceeded to occupy the guardhouse at the entrance of the Embassy of France. The assailant was caught in the crossfire with the Tanzanian Police Force and the embassy guards and was shot dead soon after.
