UN Human Rights Council plans to discuss Afghanistan on August 24

The United Nations Human Rights Council will hold a special session on August 24 for addressing the issue of human rights in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. The meeting in Geneva is being convened after an official request was jointly submitted by the representatives of Afghanistan and Pakistan and it has been supported by 89 countries so far.
