On 5th July, the data disclosed during the Panel on Violence against Women and Girls with Disabilities showed that there are about 700 million female persons with disabilities in the world and that about 50% of these have experienced violence before the age of 18. It was pointed out that data in this regard are also very limited and for this reason, it is called by the speakers an invisible crisis. In addition, the situation has certainly been worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic because victims have necessarily had to spend more time at home in contact with their abusers. To address this situation, the importance of the involvement of girls and women with disabilities in developing effective responses to the problem has been highlighted, as well as a necessary implementation of judicial remedies, so that they are more accessible and perpetrators do not go unpunished.
