Palestinians protest for fifth day in West Bank after death of activist

A wave of anger erupted among the Palestinians of West Bank after the Palestinian activist and critic of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Nizar Banat, died during his arrest by the PA security forces in Hebron last week. The occupied West Bank witnessed demonstrations over five days in several cities calling for the resignation of PA President Abbas after 16 years of rule. The protests face brutal repression by PA security forces. Several international and human rights bodies have expressed their concern about the PA security forces actions.
