Risk of new escalation in the Israel-Palestinian Conflict

Hamas is threatening to renew the violence in the only recently escalated Israel-Palestinian conflict if pro-settler organizations would hold a rally in east Jerusalem on Thursday. Israel annexed east Jerusalem which is from the Palestinian side considered to be the capital of
Palestine and is home to holy Islamic sites such as the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Hamas official Al-Hayya implicitly referred to the 11-day war in May 2021 and that the rally could trigger a renewal of it.
