As stated by the ISPR (Inter-services Public Relations, media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces which broadcasts military news and information), six terrorists were gunned down today during an intense exchange of fire in North Waziristan’s general area Datakhel, in an intelligence-based operation conducted. ISPR also declared that some weapons and ammunitions were recovered from the operation, and that the killed terrorists remains involved in terrorists activities against security forces and civilians. Last week also another terrorist was killed in an intense fire exchange during an Intelligence Based Operation, and in that case as well weapons and ammunitions has been collected. A cause of the rising number of terrorist attacks the country is witnessing, Pakistan’s military leadership reiterated their willing to stand united to defeat the menace of terrorism. Last month The National Apex Committee (the country's top military and political leadership) held a meeting and decided to create a national consensus against militancy, emphasizing the interconnection between the elimination of terrorism and economic recovery and political stability.
