Human Rights Council Holds Panel Discussion on Gender-equal Socioeconomic Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Panel on Gender-Equal Socioeconomic Recovery fromCovid-19 highlighted that although progress has been made in the area of women's rights in recent years, the Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down this process, and in some cases, there have even been backward steps: for example, up to 11 million girls who dropped out of secondary school because of Covid-19 may not return. The solutions suggested for dealing with post-pandemic socioeconomic recovery while protecting gender issues all start from a common premise, namely to listen to and strongly consider the opinions and views of girls and women.
